Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Francis says that the mystery of the Ascension invites us to be in profound communion with the Risen Jesus, invisibly present in the life of each one of us. The Ascension doesn't indicate Jesus' absence, but rather it tells us that He is living among us in
a new way. He is no longer in a particular place in the world, as He was before the Ascension. Now He is present in every space and time, close to each of us. In our lives we are never alone. But it will be asked: If Jesus is no longer visible, how will people
come to know of his presence? The answer is that he wants to make himself present through his disciples!
